Water Baptism
A beautiful public declaration of your faith in Jesus and your new life in Him.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19
When you're baptized, you're following in the footsteps of Jesus, who was baptized in the Jordan River, and joining millions of believers throughout history who have publicly declared their faith.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
What Is Baptism?
It's not about being perfect or having everything figured out – it's about saying "yes" to Jesus and letting everyone know that your life belongs to Him.
Baptism is one of the most meaningful moments in a believer's life. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things:
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ
- You are beginning a changed life in Christ
- You are part of a new family
Baptism doesn’t save you, but it’s a life-changing moment of publicly sharing the salvation you’ve already received through faith.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why be baptized?
Those who are baptized are following Jesus’ example and obeying His command!
Can I be baptized again?
Your baptism should have signified you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning a changed life, and uniting with a new family. If your baptism did not reflect this change of life, then you should be baptized again.
Can my infant or child be baptized?
At Greenville First, we believe in Believer’s Baptism. Therefore, we believe that baptism is an outward expression of one making the personal decision to be a follower of Jesus. The minimum age we baptize is 7 years old, however we do offer Child Dedications throughout the year.
Visit the GKIDS page for more information on Parent Resources.
What should I bring?
On your Baptism day, plan to bring a change of clothes, dark shorts and maybe even some water shoes. We provide a free t-shirt and towel. Don’t forget to bring your family and friends to celebrate your big day!
Can you make special accommodations for baptism?
Yes! We understand that due to sensory or disability circumstances, one might not be able to climb into the baptism pool. When you register, please share with us any accommodations our team could make to help you or your loved one’s baptism experience unforgettable! We’re here to help!
Not Ready Yet?
If you're still exploring faith or have questions about baptism, that's completely normal. Our team would love to help!
